About PS1 Emulator

About this site, our privacy policy, a disclaimer, and how to get in touch.

About this site

ps1-emulator.com is an independent website that makes it easy to download a fast, accurate PlayStation 1 emulator for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, along with a plain-English setup guide. Our goal is to be a simple, honest starting point for anyone searching for a PS1, PSX or PlayStation 1 emulator.

The emulator we provide is DuckStation, a free and open-source PlayStation 1 emulator created and primarily developed by Connor McLaughlin (known as @stenzek), with help from a wider community of contributors, translators and database maintainers. The download links on this site point to the genuine official releases - nothing is re-packaged, wrapped in a custom installer, or padded with extras. If you want to read the source, build it yourself, star it, report a bug or contribute, you can visit the official DuckStation project on GitHub.

Privacy policy

We keep privacy simple. ps1-emulator.com is a static website that does not collect personal data. There are no advertising networks, no analytics tracking, and no tracking cookies set by this site. We do not ask you to create an account or submit personal information.

Like almost all websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and reliability. When you click a download link, you leave this site and are subject to the privacy practices of the destination (such as GitHub or the Google Play Store). We recommend reviewing their policies if you have questions about how they handle data.

Disclaimer

ps1-emulator.com is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Sony Interactive Entertainment or the DuckStation project. “PlayStation”, “PS1”, “PSOne” and “PSX” are trademarks of Sony Interactive Entertainment, used here only to describe compatibility with the original PlayStation console.

The software is provided by its developers “as is”, without warranty of any kind. A PlayStation BIOS image is required to run games and is not included; you should dump the BIOS from a console you own and use game backups made from discs you own, subject to the laws in your country. This site does not host, provide or link to BIOS files, ROMs, disc images or copyrighted games. Use the emulator responsibly and legally.

Contact

We do not publish a public email address or contact form. If you need to reach the operator of this website - for example about the site itself or its setup guide - you can look up the registrant contact details for the ps1-emulator.com domain through a public WHOIS lookup and get in touch that way.

Please note that bugs, feature requests and technical support for the emulator itself belong with the official open-source project linked in the About section above, not with this website.
